CEL/ELC President speaks at opening of Academic Year 2007-8 in Bozen / Bolzano
In the presence of the Italian Minister for Higher Education and Research, Signor Fabio Mussi, Wolfgang Mackiewicz, CEL/ELC President, delivered the keynote speech at a ceremony held at the Freie Universität Bozen / Libera Università di Bolzano to mark the opening of the academic year 2007-8 as well as the tenth anniversary of the University.

The topic of Wolfgang’s speech was “Promoting multilingual competence and language mediation – a core challenge for Europe’s universities: Some reflections on university language policy”. Wolfgang spoke at the invitation of the rector of the University, Professor Rita Franceschini, who was a member of the Commission’s High Level Group on Multilingualism.
